Make Your ‘Move' in 2020
Dolf & Anzie Witlox • January 3, 2020

Happy New Year! January is naturally a starting point for New beginnings, New goals and a New outlook on the year ahead.
With that in mind, it is a great time to think about making those long awaited changes in your life now that the calendar officially reads 2020. If you have been thinking about making a ‘move’ and considering listing your Home or Cottage for sale, you have probably been waiting for the right time. Good news… now is the time and we can help!
Start the Year With A Plan
When entering into the process of buying or selling it is always a good idea to give yourself time to plan. In our 28+ years in real estate, we have seen it all! Which is why we encourage our Clients to begin thinking about their situation, their timelines and their budget ahead of time. Plan to start a conversation with us early to allow more time for the process to unfold naturally and stress-free.
If you start planning in January and February, it will make the journey towards Buying and Selling your Muskoka property much easier.
Stay Ahead of the Curve
Even though there is snow on the ground right now, in no time we will be entering into Spring, and the height of the Real Estate Market here in Muskoka. Rather than waiting until the snow begins to melt and rushing into the process of Buying and Selling, why not ease into the process with time on your side and an expertly laid Plan.
Depending on your situation and your Property, there may be some preparation tasks that need to be completed before your home can even hit the market.
1. Personal and family planning is very important because you want your move to easily coincide with your regular schedule as much as possible. Take into consideration the School year calendar, Business Holidays, Muskoka seasons and weather, and your own goals for when you would like to make your ‘move’ to your new Muskoka Property.
2. Property and home improvements such as painting and decluttering can take a while, which is why if you start now, you will be ready when the time comes to jump into action. We will help you to evaluate your specific property and give you suggestions of how you can make small home improvements that will make a big difference towards your resale value.
3. Budgeting can be a tough task to take on, but will become a critical piece of the puzzle when you begin searching for your new home. Going into a Real Estate process prepared with your financial information and needs, whether you are a Buyer or a Seller or both, will ease the burden come Springtime. We can help you to determine the steps that you need to take to be financially prepared to Buy and Sell your Muskoka property, we can even give you suggestions for trusted partners and affiliates to talk to.
